Environmental Notices

To appeal a CEQA Exemption Determination made by staff, submit the following information below to the SBCTA Clerk of the Board at clerkoftheboard@gosbcta.com. Staff exemption determinations are available here. Please note that your letter will be made available as part of the public record.

1. A letter of appeal stating all grounds and issues for the CEQA appeal, specifying in detail the grounds contending staff’s decision and any other written materials in support of the appeal. Additionally, make sure to include the following information in the letter:
   1. Name of the project
   2. Your name and your organization, if applicable
   3. Indicate if the appeal is being filed on your behalf or on behalf of another party, organization, or company.
   4. If you are filing the appeal on behalf of another party, organization, or company, please list the name of the other party or parties.
   5. Your contact information such as an email address. You could also provide a mailing address or phone number.
   6. A signature and a statement that the information provided in the appeal are complete and true.
2. A copy of the subject exemption determination made by staff.
3. A $300 administrative appeal fee.

The SBCTA Clerk of the Board may reject an appeal if it is incomplete or if the exemption determination was made by the SBCTA/SBCOG Board of Directors.
