March 11, 2026

The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), in partnership with Caltrans 8, the City of Hesperia, and the City of Victorville, broke ground on Friday, February 20, for Phase 2 of the US 395 Mobility Freight and Safety Corridor. This project is partially funded by Measure I.

The ceremony was attended by local officials, community stakeholders, and residents and marked a continuing transformative initiative aimed at improving freight mobility and safety in the region. With increasing freight traffic, the corridor plays a crucial role in supporting local businesses and reducing congestion on vital routes. Phase 2 of the project is designed to build upon the successes of the initial phase, incorporating advanced safety features and expanding roadway capacity to accommodate the growing demand for freight transport.

As the project moves forward, the collaboration among local governments and state agencies highlights a unified effort to address transportation challenges and promote sustainable growth in the region. The Phase 2 Mobility Freight and Safety Corridor is anticipated to serve as a vital asset for years to come, boosting the local economy while prioritizing safety for all motorists.
