The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) and the San Bernardino Council of Governments (SBCOG) have elected their officers for the 2026/2027 year, reaffirming strong regional leadership as the agencies continue advancing major transportation and planning initiatives across the county. San Bernardino County Supervisor Joe Baca Jr. has been selected to serve as President, following his role as Vice President over the past year. His leadership will help guide the agencies through a period of record-level investment in infrastructure, mobility, and long-range planning.
Stepping into the role of Vice President is Daniel Ramos, Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Adelanto. Ramos has been an active participant in regional transportation discussions and brings a strong interest in improving connectivity and economic opportunity for high desert communities. Together, Baca Jr. and Ramos will help oversee important policy decisions and support the continued delivery of projects countywide.
The agencies also extend their appreciation to Rick Denison, Council Member from the Town of Yucca Valley, who completed his term as President. Under Denison’s leadership, SBCTA and SBCOG moved forward on several key initiatives, strengthened regional collaboration, and supported progress on major highway, transit, and active transportation projects. His dedication and service helped position the agencies for the work ahead.
With new officers in place, SBCTA and SBCOG are well prepared to continue delivering on their mission to improve mobility, support regional planning, and enhance the quality of life for residents throughout San Bernardino County. The 2026/2027 term promises to be another productive year as the agencies move forward with major investments and long-term strategies that benefit communities across the region.
