Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Official Rules 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. 

These rules govern the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes being conducted by San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA). 

1. HOW TO PARTICIPATE 

Individuals can participate in the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes by following one of the methods below: 

a. SUBMIT YOUR WHERE DID YOU GO? TRANSIT TRIP INFORMATION AT GOSBCTA.COM/TRANSIT: 

i. A transit trip is defined as use of a bus and/or train which connects with the San Bernardino Transit Center and/or utilization of one or more San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators (Metrolink, Omnitrans, Victor Valley Transit Authority, Mountain Transit, Basin Transit or Needles Area Transit). 

ii. Transit trip information must have occurred during the active quarter for which the information is being submitted (Quarter 1: February-March-April; Quarter 2: May-June-July; Quarter 3: August, September, October; Quarter 4: November, December, January). 

iii. Transit trip information must be submitted by 11:59pm PT on the last day of the quarter (January 31st, April 30th, July 31st, October 31st). 

iv. Limit one (1) online entry per quarter. 

b. SEND AN EMAIL TO SBCTA: 

i. Send an email to sbtransit@gosbcta.com. 

ii. Email subject line must be “Where Did You Go? Sweepstakes Entry”. 

iii. Email must contain applicant’s first and last name, complete home address, city, state, ZIP Code, area code and telephone number. P.O. Boxes not accepted. 

iv. Email must include date of birth. 

v. Where Did You Go? transit trip information, including transit agencies utilized, origin, destination and purpose of the trip (optional) i.Email entries must be received by 11:59pm PT on the last day of the quarter (January 31st, April 30th, July 31st, October 31st). 

vi. Email entry will count as one (1) sweepstakes entry for the active quarter. 

vii. Limit one (1) email entry per quarter. 

Use of any device to automate entry is prohibited and will result in disqualification. Any violation of these rules or any attempt to obtain entries by using fictitious or non-functioning email addresses or identities or any other methods will void that applicant’s entry and that applicant may be disqualified. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by SBCTA. Computers at SBCTA will be the official time keeping devices for the Sweepstakes. SBCTA is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified. 

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS 

a. The Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes is open to U.S. residents who are 18 years of age or older. 

b. All employees of SBCTA and contractors or consultants of SBCTA who are working directly on the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes project, the members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, sibling, or child), and those living in the same household of each (whether related or not), are ineligible to win. 

c. The Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Participants are required to provide truthful information. In order to claim the prize, SBCTA may require the winners to provide a valid government issued photo identification card along with their complete current mailing address, date of birth, and phone number. SBCTA will disqualify any individuals who do not meet these eligibility requirements. 

3. WHERE DID YOU GO? SWEEPSTAKES AWARDS 

a. Qualified entries are eligible for a quarterly random drawing for a prize valued up to U.S. $50.00. 

b. Odds of winning depend on number of entries. 

c. Prize selection for each quarter will be predetermined based on the discretion of SBCTA. 

d. The random drawings will be conducted by SBCTA staff. 

e. The Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Award Winners will be notified by SBCTA staff using the phone number and/or email address provided in the entry within fourteen (14) calendar days following each quarterly drawing. 

f. Where Did You Go? Sweepstakes Awards will be mailed to the individual winners at the home address provided OR may be picked up at SBCTA’s office at 1170 W. 3rd Street, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92410 during regular business hours. 

At SBCTA’s discretion, the following information about Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Award Winners may be shared in news publications, digital media, advertising, social media and promotional materials: transit information (origin, destination, service used and purpose of trip); first name; prize received. SBCTA will not publish any entrants’ last name, address, email address, phone number, age or date of birth. 

4. CONDITIONS 

a. Decisions made by SBCTA management with respect to the determination of entrants’ eligibility to participate Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes are final. 

b. Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes is governed by and subject to the laws of the State of California and the United States. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Award Winners will pay all applicable taxes and fees. 

c. The Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Award Winners must respond to the notification of winner selection within fourteen (14) days of the date SBCTA sends notification to the winner. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to respond within fourteen (14) days of SBCTA sending the notification of winning, the potential winner forfeits the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Award and 

a new winner may be selected. Substitute winner(s) will have fourteen (14) days to claim the Sweepstakes Award. 

d. The Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Awards are expressly limited to the item(s) listed on goSBCTA.com/transit and there is no substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent, except that SBCTA may, at its sole discretion, substitute an award of comparable value. The winners will be solely responsible for all taxes and all other fees and expenses associated with the receipt and use of the sweepstakes awards. SBCTA is not responsible for prize utility, quality, or otherwise. 

e. If for any reason this Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes cannot be executed as planned, including, but not limited to, as a result of infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, incomplete or unintelligible entries, or any other causes beyond the control of SBCTA that corrupt or affect the security, administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes, or if the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes is compromised or becomes technically corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, SBCTA reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes. If due to circumstances beyond the control of SBCTA, any award-related event or travel is delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, SBCTA reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes and shall not be required to award a substitute award. 

f. SBCTA, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process for the Sweepstakes or its websites. Failure to comply with the rules of the Sweepstakes may result in a participant’s disqualification and/or forfeiture of any award. If SBCTA makes a good faith determination that cheating or fraudulent activity has occurred in connection with the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes, SBCTA reserves the right to disqualify that participant from winning future promotions and to prosecute and seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

g. SBCTA is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering, the administration, or the announcement of the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes. 

h. For a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to “Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes Official Rules,” Attn: Nicole Soto 1170 W. 3rd Street, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92410. The Official Rules also shall be available online at goSBCTA.com/TransitNetwork and during regular business hours at SBCTA’s offices. 

5. PRIVACY 

a. SBCTA respects your privacy. 

b. By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to SBCTA’s collection of your first and last name, phone number, e-mail address, home address and other information as provided through the sweepstakes (Personal Information). 

c. By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to SBCTA’s and the San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators’ use of your first name and transit trip story in news publications, digital media, advertising, social media and promotional materials. 

d. Personal Information is accessible by SBCTA employees, San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators and authorized contractors on a need-to-know basis. Once Personal Information is no longer needed, such information is deleted. 

e. Personal Information collected is not publicly accessible. 

f. While SBCTA does not warranty or guarantee the security of your Personal Information, it makes all reasonable efforts to maintain such security. 

g. By submitting an entry and participating in the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes, you hereby agree to waive, release, discharge in advance and hold harmless SBCTA, including the San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators, and their directors, officers, employees, agents and affiliates from any loss, damage, claim, judgment or harm that you have suffered in whatever manner or form, and regardless of how the alleged loss, damage or harm is alleged to have been caused. To the maximum extent allowed by law, neither SBCTA nor the San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators, will be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages due to your participation in the Where Did You Go? Quarterly Sweepstakes, or for any inability to access or participate the sweepstakes. The laws of some jurisdictions may not allow the limitation of liability set forth above, so this limitation of liability may not apply to you. If any part of this limitation on liability is found to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, the aggregate liability of SBCTA, including the San Bernardino County Public Transit Operators, under such circumstances for liabilities that otherwise would have been limited shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
