SBCTA, in cooperation with the City of Montclair and the Union Pacific Railroad, led the construction effort on the new Monte Vista Avenue/Union Pacific Railroad Grade Separation in Montclair. The project included a new grade separation over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks along Monte Vista Avenue to reduce congestion and traffic delays, enhance safety and improve emergency response times, eliminate at-grade crossing hazards to motorists and pedestrians, create a quiet zone, and improve air quality.
