San Bernardino County Transportation Authority’s New Guides Makes Transit Easy for Older Adults and People with Disabilities

September 25, 2025

The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) is proud to announce the release of newly developed resource guides designed to enhance mobility and accessibility for older adults and persons with disabilities across San Bernardino County and in the Morongo Basin. Created from feedback through the Inland Aging Coalition, these user-friendly guides aim to make public transit easier and more accessible for residents with mobility challenges.

The guides feature an easy-to-read map displaying transit services throughout the county, including connections beyond county lines to neighboring areas as far as Oceanside and Indio. It offers detailed information on fare structures and discounts tailored for seniors and individuals with disabilities, along with guidance on using Google Maps for real-time transit planning and trip scheduling.

The resources highlight the various transit services available, including fixed-route transit, paratransit, and additional transportation programs that support older adults and persons with disabilities. It covers services provided by Victor Valley Transit, Omnitrans, Metrolink Arrow trains, Basin Transit, Mountain Transit, and Needles Area Transit.

SBCTA encourages older adults and individuals with disabilities to take advantage of the resources provided to improve their travel experiences and connect to essential services, healthcare, social activities, and employment opportunities within San Bernardino County.

The new transit resource guide can be found at gosbcta.com/allthingstransit along with more information on available services.
