The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) hosted its annual Business 2 Business (B2B) Expo and State of Transportation on September 25th at the Ontario Convention Center, drawing more than 300 attendees from across the transportation, construction, and small business communities. The event serves as a cornerstone for fostering collaboration and expanding opportunities within the regional transportation industry.
The day began with SBCTA President Rick Denison, who delivered inspirational opening remarks on behalf of the SBCTA Board of Directors. His message underscored the agency’s commitment to innovation, regional investment, and continued progress in delivering transformative transportation solutions for San Bernardino County.
Following President Denison’s remarks, Executive Director Carrie Schindler and Deputy Executive Director Otis Greer presented the State of Transportation address, offering updates on current and upcoming projects while highlighting the importance of strategic partnerships with industry. They emphasized that meeting today’s transportation challenges requires collaboration, innovation, and shared vision, qualities that thrive when public agencies and private firms work together toward common goals.
After the morning program, attendees transitioned to the Business 2 Business Expo, where large transportation prime contractors connected directly with small and emerging businesses to explore potential teaming opportunities on future SBCTA projects. The Expo fosters a collaborative environment designed to strengthen the local contracting community and create quality partnerships for competitive bidding.
The event also featured participation from several public transportation agencies, including Metrolink, the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), and the Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA). Attendees gained valuable face time with agency staff to learn about upcoming procurement opportunities and gain insight into each organization’s approach to contracting and project delivery.
Through this annual event, SBCTA continues to demonstrate its commitment to regional collaboration, economic opportunity, and industry partnership, ensuring that local businesses remain active contributors to shaping the future of mobility across San Bernardino County.
