SBCTA is advancing efforts to make public transit more accessible and convenient by awarding $1.29 million in Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 funds for Transit Stop Access Improvement projects throughout San Bernardino County. These funds, drawn from the Local Transportation Fund’s dedicated share for pedestrian and bicycle facilities, will support infrastructure enhancements that make it safer and easier for residents to reach local transit stops.
Seven agencies representing 13 cities and unincorporated areas in the San Bernardino Valley submitted projects through the 2025 Call for Projects, released earlier this year. All eligible submissions were recommended for funding, allowing for improvements such as new sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, and the installation of bus stop fixtures at more than 100 transit stops. The projects reflect SBCTA’s commitment to supporting equitable, multimodal access to transit and improving first- and last-mile connections for riders.
Through this latest round of funding, SBCTA continues to strengthen local partnerships and invest in projects that enhance safety, accessibility, and sustainability, making public transportation a more viable and attractive choice for communities across the county.
