Following approval from the Board of Directors, SBCTA is moving ahead with plans to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Program Project Management and Specialty Professional Services in support of the agency’s Major Projects Program. The RFP, anticipated later in the fiscal year, will establish a new professional services contract aimed at strengthening SBCTA’s ability to manage and deliver major transportation improvements across the county.
The contract will bring on a consultant team to work alongside SBCTA staff in overseeing the development, approval, and construction of key transportation projects. The consultant will function as an extension of SBCTA’s internal team and provide full-time, in-house support for daily project management needs, while also remaining available on an on-call basis for specialized technical and professional services.
The scope of work will encompass a range of disciplines essential to successful program delivery, including program and corridor management, construction oversight, and cost estimating. Additional expertise will be available as needed in areas such as surveying, geotechnical engineering, right-of-way, environmental review, tolling, and administrative and contract support. This flexible structure ensures SBCTA can efficiently scale technical resources to meet the evolving demands of its transportation portfolio.
Through this proactive effort, SBCTA continues to position itself for the next generation of transportation improvements while maintaining the momentum of current projects and ensuring the agency has the technical capacity and expertise to deliver complex, multimodal solutions for the region’s growing mobility needs.
