(SAN BERNARDINO, CA) – The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) is pleased to announce that Yucca Valley Councilmember Rick Denison has been elected by his peers to serve as the next President of the SBCTA Board of Directors for Fiscal Year 2025/2026. Joining him in leadership is San Bernardino County Fourth District Supervisor Joe Baca Jr., who will begin his term as Vice President.
SBCTA is San Bernardino County’s regional transportation planning agency, representing all 24 cities and towns, as well as the five supervisorial districts, across the largest geographic county in the continental United States. The agency plays a critical role in shaping transportation policy and infrastructure investment for its more than 2 million residents.
As the agency’s President, Councilmember Denison will expand his leadership role with the Board of Directors in providing strategic direction and oversight to the staff responsible for the implementation of its robust slate of transportation projects and programs. SBCTA manages an annual budget of more than $1 billion, supporting initiatives that improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance the quality of life for the residents of San Bernardino County.
“As President, I look forward to working collaboratively with our partners across the region to ensure that every community — from our mountain and deserts to our urban centers — has access to a safe, efficient, and future-ready transportation network,” said President-Elect Rick Denison.
Vice President-Elect Baca Jr. added, “SBCTA is delivering transformative projects that support economic development and improve daily life. I’m honored to serve in this leadership role and continue advocating for the needs of our diverse communities.”
