Safe Summer Driving

July 13, 2022

For many of us, summer time usually means vacations and road trips with family.  With a little planning and some quick safety checks, you can help avoid breakdowns and inconvenient delays in your travels.

Be sure to check your car’s fluids, belts, hoses, brakes, lights, air conditioning system and tire pressures before you hit the road to prevent breakdowns, or worse a highway accident, during your trip.

Additionally, packing some critical items could ensure your trip goes smoothly.  Before you go, pack the following items:

  • Bottled water, for your family and car if needed
  • Cell phone and electric device chargers
  • Cooler with snacks
  • Flashlight
  • Jumper cables
  • Basic repair tools and duct tape for simple fixes
  • First aid kit
  • Wet wipes and paper towels
  • Blankets and towels

With a little planning, you can make sure your summer road trip is safe and fun.
