SBCTA is Awarded Funding by the Environmental Protection Agency

October 25, 2023

SBCTA has been awarded $1 million by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through its Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program. This program provides grants to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to develop and implement plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollution. With SBCOG efforts, in partnership with the Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) and Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG), SBCTA will update its Regional Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan and include Riverside County in its update.

The updated Regional Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan will be known as a Climate Action Plan that will serve as the foundation for future implementation funding. Critical infrastructure improvements are important for our region for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and climate impacts.
